door width

is there any requirement for how wide a door gap to exterior must be at minimum? Thinking about changing a window to a door and it would be cheaper not to have to widen gap... this is in a kitchen to outside.

No regulation as far as I am aware.
Assuming you are not having the frame and door made to a bespoke size , you will need to get the new opening close to one of the standard ready made products - width and height.

In an existing house there is no minimum or maximum.

Off the top of my head it's a minimum of 850 mm between the edge of the door and the door stop in a new build.
