I reckon they will stop you using the Game loyalty cards in a day or so - so get those points redeemed as quick as you can!!

As soon as the Administrators come in, gift cards will only be good for scraping the windscreen too...

Don't forget that Gamestation is the same company too!

Took my kids into Game to spend theirs when the EA news broke. Still have £20 on the loyalty card to spend.

A uni student was trading in 15+ games when we were at the till, some still sealed. Overheard the assistant tell him he now had £220 on his card - hope he doesn't hang around.

They have already taken quite a lot off pre-owned prices, many stores are now quite bare. I think many of the new games will just go back to the publishers rather than be sold of cheap.
  • I went into my local GAME today to spend my points and trade a few of my old titles in.

There were so many preowned titles on the cheap so if you're looking to stock up on (what I'd consider) decent titles and aren't concerned if they're pre-owned or not then now is the time.

The young lad behind the counter advised me to not take the trade-in prices of the games I brought in as a gift card and to spend them ASAP as the branch I was at could go at anytime. It's fair advice to be honest, especially looking around at their 'chart titles' which seemed few and far between.

I'd say, if you have reward card points or gift vouchers and were looking to make some game purchases, you might as well do it now just in case.

Thanks for the tip, I actually said this to my husband a couple of days ago when I first heard GAME were having problems, now you've given me the spur to go and spend the cards. My lads have got £25 on a gift card from trade-ins, and a further £8 or so of points on our loyalty card, so I'll be off to spend them today!

Im just back from game where I spent a £50 game voucher for £50 iTunes voucher. Like previous posters have said, the shelves are bare and had very few new titles that I wanted!

I went to the nearest GAME store this morning (small concession within Comet on Speke retail park) and there was lots of X Box games for 98p or less, nothing for the Wii though. I'd wanted to get Mario Party 9 for my boys but they didn't have it, nor was there any "space" where it should have been :-/ Think I'll try Liverpool city centre tomorrow, really want to get rid of the voucher now!

£220?! If he'd been quick he could have had two consoles for that last weekend, or one new bundle :) Spent mine yesterday online as the distribution side will need the time to put the stuff in the post, and it's on its way now. Problem being that even when you redeem those built-up points the new purchases will leave you with a final set even if you haven't spent (much) new money to get them, but if it's 20p we're talking about then that's not as bad as losing tens or hundreds of pounds.
