How come some people have loads of tesco points?

 Could anyone please tell me how do people amass hundreds of thousands of points? Some people have enough for holidays. Is there a website with tips or is it some well guarded secret........

  • You can get loads of extra points on internet orders, and there are websites out there devoted to this subject.

Also join up to all the 'clubs', that Tescos do, the heathly living, baby club etc, and you will get additional mailouts with points vouchers.

And the obvious do all your shopping at Tescos, and keep an eye out for any coupons with extra points offers.

    Good Luck.

  • I get loads of points by using a tesco credit card to buy large items, then pay off the balance at the end of the month. We both buy petrol at Tesco, and I use my double points vouchers only when spending a large amount to get the most benefit.

Use the extra points vouchers you get if it's worth your while, ie don't buy something for £5 that you don't really want or need to get 100 points as that's only a pound back.

  • The first will be free but after that you pay a fiver but if you don't use them for a while, it seems to be about 3 or four months, they send a letter with either £5 off your next online order or if you are lucky £10, quids in.

My only problem with online is that I always seem to end up with stupid things like one potato, I know it is my fault but it is still annoying.

Some people womble ( Picking up receipts that people haven't used a club card with & getting CS to put the points on their own card) Don't do it too much as you may get in trouble.
Also there are til spits giving extra points on products you may find these chucked away in the car park trolleys.
If you drink wine there are some good codes giving 1000points = £40.00 deals for £50.00 spend various.
Look at Tesco codes only at the top of discount thread for grocery/wine sometimes direct codes.
  • I do almost all my tesco shopping online and use all the bonus points codes I can find or bank them to use another time. I also have 2 accounts, one in hubby's name, one in mine (although can only trade in for deals in 1 name or the other). We get all our petrol from tesco and then you can get points is you have a tesco mobile phone, home phone, internet/internet phone and from places that do tyres etc. Best check online where you can collect points from. This quater we got £78 worth of tokens comined or 7800 points.

something weird happened to me when I ordered my deals, BIL (same surnmame) lent me £14 so I had enough for my bedroom furniture in MFI, I converted both mine and his on my account and they sent them through to my address, no questions asked (we live at different addresses)
  • Lorraine previously I have bought mum's and used them. The vouchers then come to my address.

  • Am hoping to take the family to Florida in June or July. Just need to work out best way to do it.

Would it be best just to book with Cosmos or Virgin and pay for the whole lot with vouchers (I will have about £2850 after this mailing arrives)?

Would it be better sell the vouchers and pay cash with a cheaper tour operator?

Is there an even better way such as paying for flights and car hire with vouchers and paying cash for accomodation?

Any advise from those who have already done this would be appreciated
    .

Thanks everyone but the quote above was on another thread from bbb99. How on earth did she get that many. Unless she spends bucketloads of money in tesco!
