hi, msers, my wood guttering needs replacing .
any ideas on what is best - aluminium or twin plas, i have googled but not found anything helpful to decide.
any advice would be appreciated as to durability, maintenance etc have had advice from local gutterers, builders etc but each one seems to be recommending their own product, which they specialize in and just giving downside of the other product, so independent advice would be greatly appreciated .
need to replace approx 50 metres on victorian terrace
thanks

Plastic guttering would be the easiest to work with and need little or no maintenance but on a Victorian property i think high on your list should be 'what will it look like'. I've never seen wooden guttering but it would be a shame to replace a period feature for something that looks cheap and nasty. Can you get a modern gutter that looks more ornate ?Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,
What it may grow to in time, I know not what.

i have been advised that twinplas is a replacement wood lookalike and can be placed on the original wooden brackets.
