Help... How to connect a surround sound system

Could you please tell me the best way to connect my surround sound blueray sysyem.
I have a samsung ps42b451 plasma tv
a samsung sky+hd box
a ps2
and a sony blueray surround sound system bdv-ef200
at present the ps2 is connected to the tv by a scart lead.(happy with this as not used much)
the sky+hd box is connected to the tv by hdmi cable
i understand i connect the surround system to the tv with hdmi cable
but do i connect the optical cable from the surround sound to the tv or the sky+hd box.
I want to hear normal tv from the surround sound speakers.

If you want surround sound from the Sky HD box you must connect it to the Sony box by optical as for some silly reason Sky doesnt pass DD info via HDMI.
Cannot see full details of the TV but you will either need to buy an optical switch as your Sony box only has one optical input. Alternatively you could see if there is an analogue output given there is little if any DD on Freeview0 -

The optical cable needs to go to the Sky HD box. The Sky HD box only does 5.1 surround sound over the optical connector, not HDMI.0
