will they repay me?!

Hello sorry if this is silly but Ive been searching online for ages to find an answer-

basically good old Santander are adamant I owe them £105 and I am 99% sure I don't ( a mix of them messing up a lot, late payment fees for 3p, them telling me I owe them nothing, sending correspondence to the wrong address and obscure purchases on my account?!)

I am getting REALLY fed up with them and their horrific customer service ( countless letters they just ' forgot' to respond too and they never answer the questions I ask) and not being able to get a student bank account which I really need right now.

If I pay off the money I owe now and then refer if to FOS will I get back the money if they deem I shouldn't have had to pay it ?

Sorry massive story for a little question!

Yes but why pay anything until you are sure?
Start a formal complaint and get hard info from them - SAR them if you have to (cost £10).
  • I have, although they RARELY answer any of my questions when they do write to me.

Im just getting really down about it all and I'd rather just pay £100 and get shot of all this hassle :(

You say you have written. This is not a formal complaint.

It is often not a bad idea provided though it is useful to make it clear in letters that this is without prejudice.

The FOS won't hold it against the OP and will order a refund if necessary.

The advantage is it can just stop things getting out of hand - ie CRA reports that have to be reversed later.
