Still waiting for refund of PPI

Hi after using the template letters provided on this site I wrote to my bank and made a claim for mis sold PPI. They have since written back (4th December) and made an offer of £6500.00 including interested calculated at 8% up to 2nd January. The letter stated that if I accepted the offer I did not have to do anything and either a cheque would be paid to me or the money would be put into my existing Lloyds account. It is now 12th March and I have not received any money, nor have I received any further correspondence from them stating why there is a delay. I was thinking of writing to them again to find out what is happening although I am not sure what to actually say in the letter, has anyone experience of these delays, how should I go about resolving this? Am I entitled to ask for them to recalculate the interested up to the current date? Thanks any advice would be appreciated.

They will pay the 8% up to the date you get your money, give Lloyds a ring and tell them this unacceptable and if they do not look into this you will put a complaint into FOS.0

I rang Lloyds TWICE and both times I was fobbed off and told that I would be contacted within 5 days, I was never contacted. I then wrote to them a letter telling them it was unnacceptable, that was over two weeks ago and still I have heard nothing back. This is ridiculous, they wrote to me on 6h Decemeber with an offer, its now 18th April, exactly how long does it take to write a cheque! I don't know whether to put a complaint in with the FOS now, I have heard that if you do that it can slow things down even more. My boyfriend got made redundant and we really need this money! :-(0

If you ring FOS you are not making the complaint again, you are complaining about the length of time you have waited for your money.
Have you put a complaint into Lloyds regarding the time this taking?.0 -
I have since written to Lloyds again on 12th march and I still have not received a response from them. So ringing and writing doesn't seem to have any effect. In my letter I stated the length of time I had waited for the refund to be paid was extreme and that they needed to recalculate the interest and send me another offer. I am at my wits ends now, beginning to think they have no intention of ever paying the money back. I know they received the letter because I sent it recorded delivery. What else can I do to hurry things up? I don't want to complain to the FOS if that will slow things down even more :(0

Amazing news, I tweeted Lloyds TSB on Tuesday to say how disgusted I was and they have rang me today with new offer (recalculated interest), said a cheque will be in post today, given me the cheque number, and have said they are sending another cheque for £100 as a goodwill gesture. They reckon I will receive both within 10 days. Result!?!?!?!0

Thats great news I'm in the same postion with Halifax (now part of Lloyds so maybe they are the problem). Have been waiting since Feb for the payment and they wont give me any information at the same time their debt collectors are threatening all sorts. I might try twitter."You are entitled to your own opinions but not your own facts" - Arthur Schlesinger
Proud to be have dealt with my debt

Hi guys, good news, we finally received a cheque for the full amount plus the recalculated interest followed by another cheque a few days later for a goodwill payment of £100. I don't know if it helped but I found the AskLloyds twitter account and tweeted how unhappy I was at waiting, somebody promptly tweeted back and asked me to Private Message some info. They passed the info onto PPI team and I rang them the following day, it all seems to have got sorted so quickly after that. Might be worth a try for anyone else waiting. :-)0
