Leather Sofa

we spent about £2,500 at SCS a few years ago on a leather settee with a manual recliner at each end & a chair that was a motorised recliner/massager - within the 1st year the chair had been repaired then failed again after the guarantee period & the settee was very tatty by the time it went to sofa heaven a few months ago! the frame was all ok as that was metal but the leather was getting very tatty.
we spent £3000 on 3 stressless recliners with footstools last September. the most comfortable & versatile seating for us & i wished we'd spent the dosh on the stressless 1st time around. (they do sofas & bigger units too, definitely worth the extra compared to the mass market sellers).0 -
Thanks for all the ideas/replies.
From what I have seen Argos are doing some superb deals, but as people have said you get what you pay for......and with them been Argos you can't actualy sit/try them first.
Argos are doing a 'Pia' suit for £799. Its a large and regular settee both with 2 recliners, deep seats, deluxe leather.....

I got mine from Argos, following some very helpful advice from a fellow MSE poster who works there and happened to have the one I wanted on the shop floor at the time! I have this sofabed and this matching regular sofa. The leather is lovely and soft, the sofas look modern and stylish (they look nicer in my living room than in the catalogue!) and the sofabed is very comfy both as a sofa and as a bed.

Would you say your regular sofa is heavy/average/light to pick up? Don't suppose you know if the base is wooden or metal framed?0 -
I'm new here so be gentle with me!!
I bought a leather sofa on the internet from this company...
http://www.suitesofas.co.uk/
I cannot recommend them highly enough. The sofa is higher quality than I have seen anywhere... far better than DFS or anywhere like that. I only paid just over £300 for it and it was well worth it!0 -

You can view some of Argos sofas in Homebase. They have items which are simiar in both stores. Homebase seems to give v. good offer for this:
Don't think they display this in store though. Anyone having ay experience with this sofa? homebase

I got mine from Land of Leather & I'm happy with it, I got my previous one from Courts.
BUT after I had bought mine I saw M&S have a budget priced leather sofa, now my sister has one that cost her about £4,000 & is fab, but as its M&S I'm thinking even their budget range must be good.
I will try & find it & link it for you.
