I want to buy a new leather sofa this weekend.
Something i've never bought before (sofa, settee etc)
I've written out a list of shop:-
SCS
DFS
Ikea
John Lewis
Anymore????
Also, has anyone ever bought a leather settee from Argos? Was it a good buy? Was the leather good leather?
I've been told Italian leather is good to go for, thats about as far as my knowledge goes....
Thx

Ive had a tour of this companies factory. I was told to lift one of the frames for a chair and it weighed more than the finished chair we bought a few years ago and was solid. I have sat in quite a few of the chairs made by them one of them is in a family home with 4 very engergetic kids and it looks like new.
Everything is made to order so you cant just go in pick somthing and walk away with it but now you cant do that anywhere. Unfortunatly they only have their showroom in Farnworth but if your local I would give them a try. We didnt buy fromt hem as we only found out when people came round and saw we had a new suite or when we told people we had just bought a new suite peope then informed us about the place.0 -
Depends were you live, you may want to visit CSL sofas (http://www.csl-sofas.co.uk/). We bought our recliner leather sofa from them couple of weeks ago to be delivered mid-March. They had the best sales approach for us - there was no one following as around, which made shopping experience enjoyable!!!! A sales woman came to us, introduced herself and said to come to her if we have any questions and no more nagging, pushing and so on. The prices were also good- full leather 3-seater recliner we bought for £695!!!!! If you live within 50 miles from them they will deliver it for free as well.Spring into Spring 2015 - 0.7/12lb0

Just be warned that DFS SCS, cheap prices cos they are rubbish.
John Lewis and Ikea good stuff, but it will cost you more. Depending on your budget, you get what you pay for.

A friend had an Ikea one, dropped to bits, then got one from Argos and it's fine. Don't think the Ikea ones are very nice personally. Barker and Stonehouse is nice, but at a price! I paid £2k for mine. One day I might be more organised...........

GC: £200
Slinkies target 2018 - another 70lb off (half way to what the NHS says) so far 25lb0 -
We got ours from Land of leather, it was an ex display one and got a good deal on it.
Id never just buy from Argos or somewhere similar because you cant try them out. Nowt worse than sitting on a horrible, hard sofa.0 -
I bought two two seaters from DFS last year and they are fine. I wouldn't usually buy from there but the prices were OK and it was just for the children's room anyway. You do get what you pay for but I have been pleased so far. 0% credit as well.Middlers0

Hi there
We recently were looking for a leather sofa. We ended up by getting it from Tesco direct.
They were great. Delivery was only £4.95 and you get a choice of delivery dates and they call you 1 hour before they deliver so you don't have to take a whole day off work. We wanted a drk chocolate leather and we are very pleased with it.
Good luck wherever you get it from. I love the smell.0
