Stop under the RTA. Means stop and exchange details. Does the op have them?0 -
Leave them a friendly note on their car with your phone number.

I did stop and waited for 15-45 mins (recorded on my mobile) but nobody showed to exchange details with. I left a note under the wiper with contact details....prove otherwise? As I understand it I have complied legally with what is required.?0 -
If you end up in court with a forensic report which states that the scratch on your car was caused by the same make, model, year etc. of car which parks next to yours, you only need the balance of probability, not beyond reasonable doubt.
Is it more probable that it was the car of your neighbour or some random other car which miraculously has identical details and paintwork to your neighbours car.
Not saying you would win but equally, it may prove cheaper for their insurer to pay out than defend.0
