EDIT: this book is not great, definitely not worth more than I paid for. Most of the recipes need you to cook at least part of the ingredients first (not just browning), then put them in the slow cooker. There are very few recipes where you just put in all the ingredients at the beginning, cook and eat. Still useful if you have one of those machines that let you brown first and then slow cook in the same pan, though.
