Really disappointed with this book when I got it after the long wait and two good books before, I found it very disjointed and almost gave up but forced myself to read - won't be keen to read any more of his books in the future :(

I sort of agree. I absolutely loved his first two books, and when I started this one, it took me ages to get into it, despite the fact I was on holiday so had loads of time for reading.

After I finished it and reflected on it, I found it a weird mixture of brilliant bits of writing which brought a tear to my eye, and really boring passages that I found myself wanting to skip through.

I know this is a link to Nook books for 99p but after having checked Amazon on quite a few of them for the description on what the book is about most of these are also 99p for the Kindle versions too.

I think if you have Calibre you can convert these Nook Books to a kindle format anyway? Someone may tell me otherwise but I know you can do this the other way round.

    Hope that helps someone :j

Yes you can. I also use Calibre so I can keep "clean" copies of my Amazon books, in case Amazon deleted my account and I lose my books, (Amazon have no reason to though).

More boring parts than not for me :( (it did have the odd few pages where you though 'Oh here we go a good book at last' but sorry to say that was short lived). I found myself having to keep going back to see if I had missed something as he totally changed from the now character to a past event or someone totally different. Not a patch on his first two!

    The Getaway - 438 pages
    New York City. Summer.
A series of violent and highly successful bank robberies have been carried out across the city, all by the same five-man team. Millions of dollars have been stolen. The thieves are slick, efficient, well-organised and vicious. The FBI are getting nowhere in tracking them down. With pressure from Washington mounting and the heists continuing, the Feds desperately search for any leads.
They need results and they need them fast.
Across the city, Sam Archer is in town for a funeral. At the service, he is approached by an old family friend who works out of the FBI’s New York Office. He’s leading the case against the thieves and has a proposition for Archer. He needs the English counter-terrorist cop to go undercover, and try to get inside their circle. Make contact and gain their trust. Find out the secrets of their success. Given his English accent and his cover story, it’s a solid plan. They’ll never connect him to the FBI. Nevertheless, Archer is ready to refuse, but his old acquaintance tells him something else, a shocking revelation that ties Archer to this case personally. It’s all the convincing he needs.

He agrees to the plan, and goes undercover.

As he establishes contact with the crew and gets deeper and deeper, Archer learns they’re planning to leave the city for good in just a matter of days, but only after performing two final spectacular heists. In a race against time, Archer is forced to think of his feet or be killed as he gets caught up in the lethal crossfire between the thieves and law enforcement, none of whom know who he really is. As the clock ticks towards the thieves’ departure and as the stakes get higher and higher, Archer must both find a murderer and prevent two of the biggest heists in the history of New York City.

Before the thieves make their final getaway.

    Condition Black (A novella - 254 pages)
In the year 2113, US 101st Airborne Corporal Will Miller regains consciousness inside a transport vessel which has crashed on its journey home. Everyone around him is dead. He has no idea where he is, or who shot him and his squad down.
He soon discovers he’s on one of the moons orbiting Mars, not far from the main colony and his transport back to Earth. Two members of a mining team stationed on the moon come out to investigate. They take Miller back to their base where he manages to send out a call for help. He has ninety minutes to wait for rescue.
But those ninety minutes are going to feel like a lifetime.
Miller quickly realises that something in the station is wrong.
There seems to be more to this place than meets the eye.
Strange and unsettling events suggest things are not quite as they appear.
As the minutes until his rescue tick by and he begins to finally figure out what is going on, Miller is forced to confront echoes from his past as well as his deepest fears in a situation that is becoming more terrifying by the second.

    The Evil Beneath - 444pages
    There’s a body in the water - and she’s wearing your clothes…
Impulsive and intrepid psychotherapist, Juliet Grey, can’t resist responding to an anonymous text message telling her to go to Hammersmith Bridge at dawn. But it isn’t simply the dead body in the water that disturbs her, it’s the way something uniquely personal to Juliet has been left on the corpse.
Another obscure message - another London bridge - and Juliet finds herself caught up with a serial killer, who leaves personal mementos instead of collecting trophies.
Teaming up with local detective, DCI Brad Madison, Juliet strives to find out why she has been targeted and how it’s connected to the accident that killed her brother, nineteen years ago.
Can Juliet use her knowledge of the human psyche to get inside the mind of the killer, before another body is found under a bridge? And how long before Juliet herself becomes the next target?
