Wowcher con

I am NOT happy.
Wowcher were offering a £34.99 box of sweets from Candy Bros for the price of £16.50. Alarm bells started ringing when the postman handed me a tiny and very light box this morning.
What I actually got was a box of sweets worth £14.
I have emailed Wowcher this morning to complain. My calculations are based on the price of the sweets sold individually on their website. Yes, they are also selling a sweetie box for £34.99 but either this is not the same sweetie box I received or, more than likely, it was put on the website as part of their 'cunning' plan to make us think we were getting a superb deal.
Either no-one at Wowcher or Candy Bros can count, or they think we are REALLY REALLY stupid.

Did you get the same box that's advertised at £34.99? Or can you not tell?"Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0

It's the same box that I had to order and use my Wowcher voucher code. The description reads: "Filled with nearly 1kg of sweets". According to my scales, it weighs 560g!!0

Grounds for complaint for definite, then. Good luck."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0

Wowcher emailed back, forwarding the following email on from Candy Bros:
"As I am sure you can appreciate, what was to be delivered to each customer was clearly stated on The Candy Bros website and on Wowcher’s website. There was no information on either websites that in any way would mislead customers. Further to this, our product was approved by Wowcher which ensured the product was consistent with the deal proposed.
Due to the nature of our products, the item cannot be returned since the goods are perishables."
I am appalled actually. They have tried to fob me off and they very well know it. I really just don't know how they can justify...well any of it really. There was also no apology or explanation from Wowcher who told me that any further correspondence should be directly with Candy Bros. Surely they should have some responsibility, considering they are the ones that sold me the voucher.
I suppose my next step is to get in touch with the managing director of both Wowcher and Candy Bros - although I'm not sure how small a business Candy Bros are and whether it would make any difference.0
