Thanks for all of your posts so far. It has been very useful.0

I live close to work and walk 3-4 days a week, and drive 1-2. So probably about £5 a week in petrol tops. I used to drive daily and go home for lunch and it was more like £15-20 a few years ago. Its so much cheaper and healthier to walk but appreciate not everyone can do this. It makes it so much harder to look for new jobs though as I have to factor in the added commute costs.0

£6.75 per week in the winter, nowt in the summer, or when the weather is nice. I live about a 40 minute walk (10 minutes bus journey) from my workplace, so I only get the bus in winter, or when the weather is cr*pDebt free and staying that way! :beer:0

Nothing, as I work from home.
I guess the saving is offset my by electricity bill and coffee supply.0 -
I don't have many options as I'm rural however I've now managed to get mine down to around £60 per week - £35 for diesel to get to and from the train station and £25 for my rail ticket. That's just 4 days though as I do one day per week from home.
Last year I had to work from a different location in another city and my costs were running at the same £35 for diesel, £15 to park at the train station (different station) and £50 for the rail ticket. Unfortunately my contract states "UK wide" so my employers wouldn't pay a penny towards the cost but it was an expensive 11 months or so.0 -
40 mile round trip each day, I spend about £220 a month on petrol. I can't wait until my office is moved to the city centre - then it will be £75 a month on the bus instead.0

£75/week on fuel for 80 mile round trip 5 days a week.0

I'm rural myself and do a 35 mile round trip every day. I worked out the fuel cost per mile is 14p (which isn't too bad for a 3l twin turbo diesel) so my fuel only costs are £4.90 per day, equating to £24.50 per week or £1,127 per year once you take out my holidays.
My wife has a similar commute.
We've toyed with moving house recently and moving a lot closer to our workplaces but I quite like it out in the middle of nowhere if I'm being honest! Still thinking about that one.0 -
£16.95 a day apparently - so £339 per month.
Assuming my annual train pass spread over 20 working days a month and then a 40p a mile running cost (which is too high as our actual costs are lower) on the car for my wife to run me to the station and back twice a day.
And then multiply all of that back up by 20 working days a month.0 -
