PPI Claiming reasons!

I've just about to start a claim against Halifax for ppi i had on a credit card from nov 95 to Aug 06.The job i had when i took the card out gave me no sick pay as it was a small independent shop.It went into liquidation but i never claimed on my insurance because i didn't know i could(being young and stupid).
From 97 to 06 i had two more spells of redundancy totally 7 months which i never claimed for and also had a broken leg which kept me off work for 6 months.
i believe i applied via a leaflet for the card and must of ticked a box(not sure as it was a long time ago).
My question is even if the t & c's were sent out(not 100% sure) should halifax have found out what my work situation was before the policy started or is there any other reason i could possibly claim.
They have confirmed i had repayment cover insurance.
Any help would be great.

Also, the fact that you applied for the loan due to a leaflet further weakens any complaint since it was therefore not an "advised" sale.

Sorry.
I wasn't going to claim because i didn't claim. Now that would be stupid wouldn't it.
i was asking if the fact i was never asked what my work situation was regarding sickness/injury pay or my means i had in place to keep my repayments up or the fact that i never knew i could get insurance else well etc,etc.0 -

You said you applied via a leaflet so this is a non-advised sale. You were not advised to take PPI but you purchased it. No one is giving you advice so they are not going to ask about work benefits etc. Suitability is only checked if they are given you advice. You've been told in a previous post you werent given advice.or the fact that i never knew i could get insurance else well etc,etc.0 -

Stop and think for a minute. A leaflet is a piece of paper.
It is not Chris Tarrant.
It is not going to suggest you ask the audience or if it is your final answer.0 -
Cheers for the advise.
I'm not a 100% sure it was a leaflet as it was 1995.
Maybe i should SAR it before anything else to see how i applied for the card.0 -
Yes you could try that, but first of all it might be a good idea to decide why exactly you think there are grounds for you to claim back PPI charges. So far, and I could well have missed it, I don't see where the problem lies. You've not said you didn't know you had PPI, you just said you didn't know you could have tried to claim on the insurance on the occasions where you fell on harder times.
Not that this applies to you per-se, but the more I read on here, the more I see people who have discovered that the floodgates have opened for PPI claims and want a bite of the cherry. Every year I pay into insurances, and every year I don't claim. It is knowing I can claim should I need to that makes me happy to pay my premiums.0
