Thanks to this site on 8th Feb 2012, following letter sent, I have received a cheque to refund PPI for £1766.76 from MBNA.
MBNA wrote back and offered refund as goodwill, stating the offer was in consideration to my complaint as they were not the original lender, at that time they also advised / assured me that they are liaising with Allianz Leicester regarding my complaint advising that they would be in touch soon, i wrote back, thanking MBNA for this gesture and requested advise relating to my complaint being forwarded on - It has now been 20 days, and i have not heard back from them.
Please advise if this is normal, do you think i should contact Allianz & Leicester directly, or will they respond in time....?? Please help

Hi
Well done on your success.
If worried, there is no harm in contacting them and ask for an update, it's possible they maybe behind, due to backlogs of lots of these complaints to deal with, but at least it will rest your mind.
Good luck. The one and only "Dizzy Di"

Help - I have now been chasing this one with Santander, and in need of advise as they have issued a final response letter explaining that they cannot find any PPI record on my account, as they have no record over 6 years.
Since the refund payment from MBNA in February ant their advise that A&L responsible for payments prior this date, originally the credit card account was opened with Allianz Leicester on 19.9.97, this was transferred to MBNA on 15/5/04 - Can anyone offer any advise on the best way to proceed in an effort to gettin A&L to acknowledge and respond to my claim. Should all of my account record from A&L be transferred to MBNA.?0 -
Unless you have records yourself, you're stuffed. Lenders are only obliged to keep information for 6 years.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0

Mac, A&L used the same excuse with me, in spite of giving them account numbers.
I called them up, went through the details with the lovely lady.
She then said ''let me try this system''.
Lo and behold, she found all of my details going back to 1997.
She called it the Sysyem C.U.G.
Try it
Life is now good
