I wonder if you can help, I am looking for the cheapest place to buy a Weed Membrane.
We have recently purchased a house and have a section of the garden approximately 7 metres square that is just earth. We plan to put down a weed membrane and then cover with bark chippings.
I would be most grateful if anyone knows the cheapest place to buy the membrane, and also the bark chippings if anyone knows?
Many thanks

Pound land if you have one near you0

you can grab 1.5meters by 5 meter long strips from Lidl for £2 if you have one close by, might all be gone by now though.
But remember, cheapest isnt always best, especialy with weed membrane, if your expecting it to last a fair while it might be worth spending a bit more on a better cross-thatched membrane that the professionals use.0 -
We bought ours from a large building depot, think it was Travis Perkins. Worked out a lot cheaper buying one big roll than a few smaller ones from a garden centre!0

Don't buy weed suppressant membrane. It's rubbish! In an area where people are regularly jumping on it, you need the industrial stuff.
I use this because suppressant membrane just tears under heavy use or weeds like couch just punch through it.

I believe it's called landscaping fabric. We use it on the railway. 50m of the 3m wide stuff cost about £80. It's worth spending the rest if you're getting play bark
