Hello. Can somebody please explain to me when I go on directgov website and type in my pay etc and get a figure of £49.80 credits. But then visit Turn2us website, I get a figure of £73 ?! I am putting in the exact same details.

Hi Roger. The two do give different amounts but remember that both are just a guide. The only real way to find out is apply unfortunately.“How people treat you becomes their karma; how you react becomes yours.”0

Isn't the turn2us calculator calculated over an entire year ... whereas the hmrc website you are directed to from directgov is only the figure for the remainder of the year.August GC 10th - 10th : £200 / £70.61

It's all very confusing. I must have had several different final figures chucked at me. I've got to get it right as I am reducing my hours at work to look after my little boy.0

When are you reducing your hours from? The calculators are only relevant up until early April anyway, so wont represent accurate figures for 2012/2013August GC 10th - 10th : £200 / £70.61

You may be right. However both should give the same amount regardless. If someone is entitled to £10 a week tax credits, then it should show that whether the site calculates for 6 months or 12.
Again though, both are a guide only, so not to be taken as exact figures.“How people treat you becomes their karma; how you react becomes yours.”0 -
The hmrc website doesn't give a weekly figure though does it? The person doing the calculation would work that out and may divide it over 52 weeks rather than the remaining 4ish for 2011/2012.August GC 10th - 10th : £200 / £70.61
