New kitchen?

Hi,

We are thinking of replacing the kitchen we inherited when we bought the house. Just wondered if anyone had any recommendations. We did get someone round from b & q who quoted £8000:( with instillation. The kitchen is only small 2.5 meteres by 5.

We are in Havering.

Thanks in advance.

B & Q fitters don't have a good reputation. Have heard that from several people. i did get a quote from them but won't be using it. My quote was for approx £10000 including fitting for a small to medium size kitchen.

ive heard some off putting stories from big shed fitters, slow, late bad quality fitting, slow to put right what they mess up, seems like they are worth avoiding as usually the fitting can be as much as your "bargain" kitchen.

go to a local independent fitter, probably work out cheaper and better quality all round
  • I'd fit it yourself if I were you - you'd put a lot more effort into the details and we did ours (a galley kitchen roughtly 3.5m long) using B&Q cupboards and it took us the weekend - we weren't even very good at DIY at that stage!

We've now just ordered our new kitchen through B&Q and will be fitting it again ourselves - barr the worktop as its solid wood this time so are ordering a custom fit one from a company.
  • The price for the kitchen may not be to bad but Im sure you could get better quality for the same price. The fitting costs will be way over what an independent kitchen fitter would charge.

Get a couple of quote from local kitchen fitters at least for the fitting side and they may be able to help you get a better kitchen for your money.
Im a kitchen fitter living in Havering. I cant promote myself on here but if I can be of any assistance please feel free to send me a PM
