Hi all.
I have attached a basic sketch so you can let me know what you think. My architect says I will be okay venting the loft area with a breathable underlay. I'm just a bit concerned about the ends of the rafters. If you can tell from the drawing i'm not having a fascia or soffit and my brickwork is finishing 20mm from the face edge of the wall (2 x 10mm corbells) So if I use an underlay support tray (in pink) will the ends of the rafters be ventilated? The underlay support tray will overlap them by an amount (for fixing).
I've also got a full fill insulation which is packed pretty tightly around the rafters when it comes up thru the wall

We have this arrangement on our house, the support tray has insect proofed ventilation apertures but the ends of the rafters extend forwards beyond the wall plate to provide, at the end the fixing for the gutter brackets. You scullion! Looks fine. As long as it's a breathable membrane it should be ok.0

The pink tray will probably be 4" past the end of the rafters/plum cut. I probably worry to much but with insulation all around and a tray ontop I was worried about the ends of the rafters rotting0

Just for some closure it all seemed to work out ok. I thought the vents were going to be to big when they were delivered. Buyer beware, 10mm over fascia vents are 25mm big, the air gap is closer to 10mm (but actually 14mmish).
