Npower Bill Saver May 2013 - £75 love2shop vouchers
I am on Npower go fix 8 for gas and electricity. The tariff is not the cheapest anymore but since Npower announced the 5% price cut in gas prices last January, customers can get out of the fixed term contract if they switch to another Npower tariff by the 31 March 2012 paying no penalty (which would be £40 for dual customers – link to news release). As I don’t want to remain with a fixed price for another year, I intend to switch to another Npower tariff.
Npower has a tariff called “Bill Saver May 2013”. As I understand it, if I switch online I get £75 love2shop vouchers (link – this is not compatible with other cashback); tariff does not have early cancellation fees either. Comparison sites say that price-wise and with my consumption, I would be £40 worse off annually with “Billsaver May 2013” as opposed to Go fix 8. Anyway that is a hit I can take as I can exit Go Fix 8 at no cost and there seems to be £75 love2shop vouchers in the process; I also like the idea of being able to switch to whoever has the cheapest tariff later in the year.
This is just me thinking out loud. Thought I would mention as other people might be in my same situation and it seems a rather attractive option. I think this tariff can get people out of their current fixed contracts with no penalties, there are some love2shop vouchers associated with the switch (for both, new and current npower customers) and we would be able to switch to another tariff with Npower or other supplier later in the year if we see fit.
Note - the only thing is that the small print says "Maximum of one £75 Love2Shop vouchers per household". I got some love2shop vouchers last year when I switched to Go Fix 8, so I am not entirely sure whether I can get them again. Anyone has some views on this?
