Watching Stuff getting Blown Up!!

I saw the pictures of an old power station in Kent getting demolished using high explosives today, and noticed the large crowds who turned up.
How do they all to get to hear about this?
Does anyone know of any websites or such that list buildings and structures that are about the be blown into oblivion?
I note such events usually happen on a Sunday - could be a good day out - watch the demolition, a pub lunch and a nice walk.
