To Keep or Not To Keep?!

I'm no stranger to credit cards and because I now have a prime card, should I ditch the other credit building cards?

Would it look favourable on my file?

I currently have:

Capital One: £157/£200CR
Vanquis: £331/£1000CR (BT in place to Barclaycard)

I have a Aqua which I'd like to keep hold of as it'll be my main CR card until I have paid my BT balance on my Barclaycard.

I suppose what I'm asking is should I cancel C1 and Vanquis?

Any suggestions/tips, would be gratefully received:cool:

  • i'd keep them for a few months if i knew i wouldnt use them, get a few zero balances on the credit reports, then cancel them.
i'm in a similar boat to yourself, although havent yet got a prime card, i'll be holding off til i've moved house and settled in first.

Lenders who check your credit file don't see who issued the cards, but the low limits probably give them a clue.

That sounds like a plan to me! Cheers!
