is there not an 'Ask me later option'?

if it is this screen then you can just click next without entering it.

There isn't an "ask me later" option. There's a skip option, but I didn't want to click on that, 'cause I assumed that because it wants a current Product Key code that it needs one. The screen doesn't look like the one you have shown in your post.

Does this PC have a make and model?

How does your screen look? A camera pic will do.

I'd skip it for the time being, you can activate windows from inside windows aOK, it is on the same windows that opens with 'start+Pause Break' it might even activate once you are in windows and have an internet connection.

I'm sorry, I don't know what a windows aOK is. I really appreciate your help. I've got to go and bang my head against a brick wall now, but will be back later for help, many thanks.

aOK just means all OK, meaning that you can activate windows later without any ill effects,
so I would skip entering the product key now and instead activate it later when you are inside windows and can see the desktop.

How would I activate it later on being inside windows? Sorry, I know this might be really basic for you.

Did the make and model question throw you?

Perhaps you can get inside Windows first and worry about Activation later.

No it didn't throw me, it's custom built (a standard Chillblast Palomino, with some changes to it), so not sure how helpful it'd be.

Wanted to know if it used Royalty OEM licencing, therefore the Product Key would not utilise online activation. But it seems this is not the case.

Just go ahead as suggested and skip the key for now.
