GE Money

Hi

I sent off a letter of complaint re PPI to GE Money a month or so ago. They acknowledged receipt and said they would look into it albeit they stated the account number was untraceable.

The account number I quoted was the agreement number they put on the settlement letter in 2006 to me to say the account was now closed, so surely this is what they need?

Unfortunately I do not have any old statement's or agreements for this account other than their letter to me in 2006 confirming receipt of my settlement payment and with that agreement number as the reference.

They have now closed the investigation until such times I give them the account number???

How should I proceed with this one guys?

Cheers

Gary

Send them a Subject Access Request (SAR) which will throw up all details they hold on you.

Go to the link to find details and template letter.

    Hi there, thanks for that

Would you know if there is a time limit? This loan was settled with GE in March 2006, 6 years ago now. When I first looked into sending a complaint, asking them for a SAR was what I was going to do initially however a poster mentioned that I may not have the time if it was settled almost 6 years ago?

    Thanks

Send the SAR letter and see what it throws up. Posters on here have had PPI refunded which dates from the 1990's.
If you have genuine reasons for complaint then go for it...;)

Would I use the same addresses that I sent the PPI complaint letters to or is there a general banking address for a SAR request?

    Thanks

Send it to your GE Money. Ring and ask them what address is most appropriate.
