Changing Euros to Pounds

Not sure this is right thread.

My partner receives a pension each month (around 600 euros) paid into a spanish bank.

Could anybody advise us the best way for us to change this into £'s with out having to loss to much in commissions etc.

I have an account in France - for transferring money between that and the UK I generally use:

MoneyBookers (https://www.moneybookers.com/app/) for amounts under about £1000 - it's fast, easy and gives pretty decent rates

The FX Firm (http://www.thefxfirm.com/) for larger amounts - it's not such an automated process but still quite easy, and gives better rates.

Moneybookers' rates are nowhere near as good as they appear on the surface.

Hidden in the small print you find this:

"For transactions involving currency conversion Skrill (Moneybookers) adds 1.99% to our wholesale exchange rates for foreign currency."

If I had money to move to/from Spain/UK regularly I would be looking at opening an account with one of the banks that has branches in both countries and has a special arrangement for internal transfers.
