Energy Saving Grants

I've read a little bit about these at the EST website and am looking at a new boiler, loft insulation and cavity wall insulation.

Has anyone managed to get a grant and if so off whom?

My wife doesn't work to look after our son and gets child tax credit.

Anyone?

You have to be on certain benefits, if you think you may qualify fill the form in, they can always say no. https://web.eagagroup.com/referrerEBS/createReferralPublic.pdo?referrer=WFPUB

There is more info on this fact sheet -

  • Try your local authority, some have their own schemes and are able to assist with applications to the government funded ones. If you call the Env. health dept, they'll should be able to direct you to their energy savings person.
  • Thanks ! I'll give them a go.

We were told the other week that our grant has been approved and we will be getting a full central heating system and gas laid to the house. The criteria for our grant from South Yorkshire Energy Efficiency is that our gross income before tax credits is under £15,500. This is based on a couple with one child. We currently have storage heaters. The average age of the heaters had to be over 20 years each.

BTW we could have had loft and cavity insulation too but it has already been done. It has taken 14 months to get to this point!
The best bargains are priceless!!!!!!!!!! :T :T :T
  • Hi Jonny B,
My wife works for an energy conservation company who works in partnership with several councils across the UK. What area are you from? Ill ask her to do a check for you. They specialize in insulation and if in a qualifing area you should have it done within 8 weeks.
  • Warmfront give grants for energy savings and new boilers, however I dont think you'd qualify as you have to be in receipt of a benefit or low income.

    You can try though
