Halifax moneyback account...

Options
I switched to the Halifax moneyback account last month and just wanted to say how happy I am with it so far...

I pay in over £1000 a month, get moneyback on all my debit card purchases and my overdraft interest rate is the lowest they offer (apart from 0% of course).

So far in just over a month I have earnt £4.17... :D

  • Its a decent account, even better if your buying a large item such as a car. I switched to the account the other year when I bought my car, paid the loan into my current account. Then paid on the switch car and then earnt nearly the maximum cash back in one transaction.
  • It can be quite a good option if you don't keep a high balance in your day to day account and use your debit card a lot.

Yeah I'm always in my overdraft so probably wouldn't benefit from the high interest account, so I'm paying less interest on my overdraft and getting money back whenever I use my debit card, which is always! :)
  • Can anyone confirm if you get a new debit card when you join the Moneybank account?

Or do you get the same as the normal current account? blue with shades of white.

Moneyback current account card looks different to the standard one. It's dark blue with "moneyback" printed on it.
  • I've earnt £45 - this just means to me that I've spent £4500 - I have nothing to really show for it - oops!
  • The overdraft is 6.9% APR on moneyback, which is lower than the others

I didn't get a new card when I transferred from the high interest account, maybe I'll get one when this one expires. :)
  • i think they issue it when your current one expires - you can always go in and request a replacement one though.
  • I got my moneyback card when my current card expired
