Gamestation warning

Hi
I have just had two orders from gamestation cancelled both i had used some of my reward points from my elite card. However the third order i placed not using any points has been put through.
So if anyone has got any points on there elite card they are wanting to use i would suggest you use them in store asap as they look like they could be going into administration sooner rather than later.
After searching T'internet it seems alot of people are having the same issue with orders using points being cancelled and full priced orders going through
Just a heads up

Even if it's a rubbish game you buy with your built up rewards points, it's better that you've got something rather than nothing.0

In their current perilous state (as reported in the press) I'd be using any vouchers/points as soon as possible.0

Exactly thats why i posted.
I dont want people losing out especially as most people collect the points up.
Next time im near gamestation i will use mine up and steer well clear of Gamestation and Game.CashBack earned to date - £1244-580 -
If your game you ordered was by EA, they they have currently stopped supplying Game, which owns Gamestation. They have had to cancel all pre-orders for these games like Mass Effect 3, Fifa, The Sims and Tiger Woods. If they have sold out of current stocks, there will be no more until the issue is resolved. The same happened with Capcom, which could hopefully be resolved soon, if Game are still in business by then.0

Thank you for this thread, I have been down town today and used all of my points on one new and one pre-owned game at gamestation. The bonus of the visit was not only did i use up my points which could in future be worthless if the news is anything to go by, but also they have reduced the price of all pre-owned games.
Win-win (for me anyway).
Will be sorry if they do go out of business as they have always been a good place to shop for games, decent prices and the staff always helpful in my local store anyway.0 -

Decent prices, that's a laugh, they are THE most expensive place to buy & sell games that is why they are on their way out.You live..You learn.:)0 -
Not a laugh. In my area are good prices for games and trade ins compared to other shops around.0

It's quite a big claim that they are refusing to allow you to spend points while they consider administration - if they continue to trade in any way while knowingly insolvent, without entering administration, their directors are committing a criminal offence.
Although the news on the BBC also paints the same picture as the OP: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-173366970 -

Actually that's not the case. It is quite legal to trade while knowingly insolvent.
The law is "wrongul trading" which only kicks in if a company knows there is no way of avoiding going bust, and doesn't attempt to minimse the loss to creditors.
Game are making every effort to avoid going bust; selling off pre-owned games cheap to generate cash, putting the business up for sale, refusing to accept points that may take assets out of the business. Therefore it doesn't seem they can be accused of wrongful trading.0
