Collision Damage Waiver?

I will be renting a car in Ireland and don't know whether to take the CDW or not. I've rented cars countless times and have never had any accidents (yet....), should I wave the CDW and have a cheaper holiday? Thanks.

How much does it cost, how much is the excess, how does that compare to the excess you accept on your on your own car.

This firm http://www.insurance4carhire.com/ will cover your excess for ~£50 which might be cheaper than using the hire firms
  • Insurance4carhire is also worth considering if you rent a car regularly during the year since it is an annual fee. So if your CDW bill is likely to be more than £50 in a year (easy to rack up since I think it's about £7 a day?) then it's probably worth it.
