I have had loans with them and yes they are expensive but if you have poor credit there are few alternatives. My local office is excellent and regularly accept my overpayments on the loan.THE LONG AND THE SLOW ROAD SEEM TO APPLY TO DEBTS AND DIETS... THE TWO THINGS I WANT TO SEE THE BACK OF...:D0

I know when you have bad credit theyre are few alternatives but this is one company that really sticks in my throat by the way they have dealt with things. They have also have had bad press in one of our Sunday papers which would put anyone off.0

Hi there
Just to say ive been with welcome for about 5 years and had no problems at all they have been really helpful with any problems that i have had.
also they have never contacted me other than by letter with offers as long as u keep them informed of any problems they DO NOT ring you or charge you.0 -
They have no right to charge you anyway, whether you're ontop of payments or not.
Welcome finance are very, very, very bad. Please don't go with them.0 -
I've been with Welcome and would never go with them again. The reason being the APR they charge. Have not had a problem with the customer service side of things. They approved the loan and delivered the money in a timely manner and I never incurred any charges with them. I made my payments on-time every month and have now paid the loan off but after being on this website now realise what extortionate APR's they charge.0

hi,
my FIL has credit with welcom for a car..
they were annoying when he was in arrears didnt care kept sending letters and charging £5 even though we had been down there and in communication..
however since he got himself sorted and has been paying on time for the last 12 months he hasnt heard from them at all.. also looks good on his credit file as they regulary updat to say paying on time..
so i think if you pay on time you should be ok.. aprs naff but if your credit is bad... :j OFFICIAL DFW NERD NO 159 PROUD TO BE DEALING WITH OUR DEBTS:beer: :j
If you do a job well, people won't be sure you've done anything at all
Must claim back bank charges!!!:rolleyes:0 -
Yeah that's my point ..my credit is totally f***ed so I have no choice. I don't have a prob paying the monthly repayments and won't be falling behind with them. Sure the APR is bad but I'll just deal with it. I just wanted to know that if you paid your payments on time - everything else was hassle-free.

Hey Blushbaby have you tried Black Horse Finance. They offer loans to people with bad credit and their APR is not as bad as Welcome.0

Yeah I swear they turned me down about 2 years ago! Either that or they offered me a loan but I didn't take it out in the end ..I can't remember.
Just googled them and there are so many sites - which one's the right one?0 -
Go to blackhorse.co.uk and click on the personal finance link. I do have a telephone number for them but it's one of those voice recognition lines and it's not brilliant. I've got a welsh accent and it can't understand what I say. If you want to try it, it's 0870 242 7878. You will eventually get through to a human being. Good luck, hope you can get a better rate with them.0
