When to apply for my Student Bank Account

Hey

I was just wondering when I need to apply for my student bank account for uni in Sept 2007. Do I need to do it before I apply for my loan, because some have T&C Saying you need to pay your loan into the account.

Also anyone know which is the best account to go for becuase the article on here is for 06/07.

hsbc wouldnt let my daughter apply last year till she had acceptance from uni that she had place

You can just give the student loan people your normal bank account details for now. When you get a student bank account, normally once you have a firm acceptance after A level results etc are out, you can change your bank details online or by post if you're not registered online. HTH

You can apply whenever you want, Natwest (free rail card!!) opened mine before I had confirmation, but they wouldnt give the interest free overdraft without the ucas conformation. Realistically though, nothing changed much for me as it was just an account upgrade -Acc number stayed the same.
