I recently got kicked out of a healthcare cashback scheme for apparently claiming too much even though I was nowhere near their limit. I now have a policy with the HSA and am worried about the same thing happening.
So the question is: How much and how often does everyone else claim?

unfortunately, money back health schemes, dont like people claiming too much.
i have been with HSA for many years, over the past few years, due to a back complaint i have been claiming a lot.
they recently changed to only paying maximum half of each claim, whereas with my wifes membership we could both claim half.....
dont abuse the system, it is there to help.
as a new member you wont be able to claim for 6 months probation period
i calim for dental checkups twice a year, optical every 2 years, chiropractic/osteopatch every 2/3 months, i have also had two overnight stays in hospitalsmile --- it makes people wonder what you are up to....

I'm not looking to abuse the system. The thing is that all four of my family see a homeopath and 2 of us also see a chiropractor so if we claimed for everything we would be claiming about 3 times a month. I was just wondering what they see as an acceptable limit. We are completely honest and have been seeing these medical professionals for years without belonging to a cashback scheme. It's not like we're finding problems so we can make money.£66.77/£240 Grocery Challenge0

i think the problem from the scheme side (especially with HSA, as they changed the way claims can be made from Jan 05)
is that they try to balance what people pay against what they claim.
In my case I fully understand why they changed it, cos i was making (legal) claims that when totalled up over the year where higher than both my wife and my monthly payments.
if in doubt give them a callsmile --- it makes people wonder what you are up to....

Out of curiosity who kicked you out of their scheme Hayley? I would like to make sure it's not who I am with. I am currently with WPA and recently claimed a lot for dental work they paid without any problem, but I am planning to take them up on the health screening cover which means they will have paid out about four times what I've paid in this year.
I think Martin wrote an article on cashback schemes a while back, if I remember right HSA didn't get a good rating when it comes to value for money. If they are now kicking people off or changing the scheme then I can only assume the rating should be adjusted accordingly.
