Disabled tax relief re building

I am recently registered as disabled and I was lucky enough to take out Critical Health cover and my condition covered that and my house is practically paid for.
Because of this my wife and decided to get an extension to the back of our property.
I was told by someone who seems to Have disappeared, that giving proof of being disabled would exempt me from paying tax but I do not remember for whay exactly.

Please can anyone help me regarding this?

Thank you,

dvtrv

i believe [but could be wrong] that's it for things you buy in regard to your condition

Well, are you going to build an extension because you are disabled or do you just fancy an extension. What will it be used for.

Are there other parts of your house adapted for your disability.

What is the nature of your disability.

When you say 'tax' do you actually mean VAT.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.

My condition is irrelevant it is just being registered as disabled.

The work is purely for us both and not in regards to adaptations for my condition, although there is a chance I may end up in a wheelchair and if so our extension will prevent us from having to buy a bungalow.

Does anyone know what this could be please?

    Thank you.
  • It might have been quicker just to type "disabled VAT exemption" into google, as I have just done...

Good point, although the following link is more relevant to the OP's question.

    .

There's no such thing as "registered disabled " these days; do you mean that you're claiming disability benefits?
