AEG/Electrolux,confused!

We are currently planning a new kitchen and am going to have Bosch appliances, however, I need a bulit under freezer and would like frost free which Bosch don't do, have searched on line and the only two I can find are an AEG and Electrolux one, they look pretty similar but there is a £100 in price between the two. I understand that Electolux own the AEG brand, so is it likely that you are paying £100 just for the AEG name or is ther a discernable difference in quality?

These are the two freezers,

There is likely to be a slight difference in the trim, AEG being better but mechanically I really doubt if there is any difference. On this basis you are paying for the AEG badge, though some kitchen retailers can offer extended warranties for AEG appliances.

Your kitchen designer should be able to advise you on this.

Here's the correct link for the AEG one:

The AEG comes with a two year warranty, whereas the Electrolux only has a one year. They aren't the same appliance rebadged, although they do share some components, the AEG is a superior appliance...

Thanks, that's very helpful, giving myself a headache trying to research all the different appliances.

Meepster - Can you advise in what way AEG is superior to Electrolux on this appliance?

    Spec for AEG-

    Spec for Electrolux - http://www.electrolux.co.uk/Products/Cooling/Built-in/Upright_freezers/EUF10810

I cant see any difference but happy to be corrected.

Well for a starter the thermostat and fan system on the AEG are German made (they are actually Bosch components, AEG don't manufacture their own), whereas the ones on the Electrolux come from Hungary, via their Lehel brand

Likewise the compressor on the Electrolux also comes from Lehel, but the AEG model is fitted with a Gibson compressor

Appreciate that Meepster but the fact that their energy consumption figures etc are identical seem more than a coincidence.

I am not doubting your input.
