Selling House --any Help

Hi all---we are selling our house after 26years in it ex council semi det, five apt, in edinburgh worth about 150,000 the questions? are what will we need to do and what fee,s will we have to pay ??? We have someone coming from RE/MAX but should we get more ? Any help appr, thanks.

    There is loads of info on here as to how to appoint estate agents, solicitors and what fees to expect.

    I'd get three agents round to give you valuations.
    Go with the one you like and who suggests a fair price.
    I'd be haggling for a 1% comission on sole agency with a 2 week notice period.

    You can also get quotes on fees from solicitors.
    And, remember stamp duty on your next property.

    Plus, I'd also have a bit of cash spare for hidden and up front costs....

    Where about in Edinburgh are you? Im in Edinburgh and looking for property. You might have found a buyer ;-)
    I must say Im not to keen on REMAX I just sold and the main thing I looked for was a mention in the ESPC. This as you will know is where most folks look in Edinburgh and Remax arent in it.
    Lints are good and reasonable and there are many others. Summerville & Russel are also good.

    Thanks for that Hearts every little helps --as you can see I said it is a five apt, semi det, villa it is in Gracemount and has parking for about six cars ---only reason we are moving is it is to big for us now the "kids" have left.
