0% Credit Card Overseas Spending...

Hi, I'm new to posting and looking for some help please?
I've been looking for best credit card for overseas spending for my holiday (going to Canary Islands). Do the 0% purchase offers include overseas purchases?? Or am I better going for something like the Halifax Clarity Card with no fees??
All help appreciated.
Thanks

When I got my Santander Zero, I got 0% on purchases for a few months (can't remember how many) and there is no loading. I'm not sure if it is still available.

Nationwide has a 0% intro offer on purchases (6 months if you don't take up their BT offer) and by spending in the UK you can "build up" a commission-free allowance for foreign spend.

The Post Office CC gives you 3 months on purchases and is unloaded for foreign purchases.

    I don't use Clarity.

In my experience, purchases always includes "foreign purchases" for these deals, but I would double check.

Else you just have to "do the maths". Paying a 2.75% loading to get 15 months and clubcard points with Tesco's card might be better than using a loading free card if you can't pay off each month (or within the shorter purchase deal that they might offer).

If you're near, or travelling through, London, give Metro Bank a go. They have 0% at the moment until September but they don't ever charge a loading for foreign usage on purchases..and the exchange rate is quite good too - they use MasterCard rates not their own..
Never argue with an idiot. Especially not this idiot because I'm always right anyway.
  • Hi, Thank you for your help. I'm going to look into your suggestions and get myself sorted.

Nationwide don't offer cashback on overseas spending but the 0% offer should still apply.
