Paying off the credit card debt

Can someone explain why, when I pay off a credit card debt in full within 2 days of receiving the bill I still receive a small charge the following month? This month I have received a bill of 21p on one card and 15p on another. I understood that paying off within a given time it would mean no further charges.

You need to have paid two consecutive statements in full, and have made no cash transactions, in order to stop any residual interest.0

Thank you YB. That explains it. Over the years I have asked various staff of the banks and they have come up with a longwinded load of rubbish.0
