Extending Tax Disc?

Hi everyone

My DH has just purchased a car that has about 5 months left on the tax disc. His current car is about to be sold to one of those scrap yards (I can't for the life of me think what they're called lol) but it still has about 3 months left on the tax disc.

Is it possible to have the remaining old car tax put on the new one?

you need to send off the old disc back for a refund of any complete months

That's great news, I was worried it would be a nightmare to sort it out and didn't know we could get a refund.

Well it does tell you that on the back of the tax disc.

you will only get a refund of the full months remaining and it will be sent to the adress the car is registered to.
