That is amazing themadvix £95 for two months, presumably you have to top up with milk ,etc and your veg box but still that really is a very good figure .
Great Mortgage figures too0 -
Thanks EG. I don't think the weather is anywhere near as bad as it is up your way, but it's still cold and snowy, so I'd rather stay in!
Thank TH - I'm sure we'll have to top up with various bits, especially fresh, but it'll do at least two months of cupboard/freezer staples (I hope, anyway!). I'll need to buy stuff for next weekend too as we have the in-laws coming for Sunday lunch, but will have to see the butcher for that.
Struggling to stay awake this afternoon - have had two nights of hardly any sleep. Am trying to keep working, lose focus, read a bit of Tilly's diary (think I mentioned I was rereading it), realise the best thing to do to achieve what she has is to do the work, go back to the work, lose focus.... see where I'm going?

Afternoon all,
Quick weekend update. DH and I have just sorted out our cc bills and having a sweep of the joint a/c accumulation and £200 from him, we've just made an OP of £600 :T:j That brings us down to 14 years exactly.... obviously it's not going to be that because a) we'll OP :Tand b) we'll be movingwhich will invariably increase the loan amount!
Still, it feels good
My saving still taking a while to get sorted, but I don't mind dealing with that incrementally - there's interest to be saved on the mortgage and little to be earned on the savings (which isn't what they're there for anyway). Next month should be able to wipe a chunk off of it anyway.
Have been for a walk in the woods in the snow this morning - very pretty.
Enjoy the weekend all, I'm off to update MFW2018.Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Morning MV - all sounds great over here. Fab overpayments and nice recipes.
Funnily enough I am going to have a go at making some sweet potato falafel today. I bought some for DD in M&S a couple of weeks ago (YS of course) and she really liked them. I looked for a recipe and they look nice and easy. I made homemade Tahini and Hummous yesterday to go with them, which was a huge success.
Keep warm x0 -
Afternoon all,
Sweet potato falafel sound delicious BusyMee - will have to give them a try.
Feeling quite low and fragile today, so being kind to myself. I'm working at the moment and then meeting Brownie friend to discuss Brownie holiday plans. I've got to get the bus and train to meet her as despite DH's best efforts car is still not quite finished and the MOT has now expired. Stupid weather! It will be good to get some fresh air. I'll do some other bits while I'm in that town too - pay cheques in for Brownie expenses (which will be quite nice), pick up a book I've ordered and will pay for using a birthday voucher, and get a Mothers' Day card.
Had a lovely day with friends yesterday. They've just bought a large 4-bed house at a massively over-inflated price due to where it is, but it was a nice house. They've got a baby on the way, but I think it'll take until at least the planned two children are teenagers before it'll feel anywhere near full! They're much closer than they were before (used to live in Surrey), so hoping we'll be seeing a lot more of them now.
Have ordered the Sam Stern cookbook as a housewarming present for BIL and GF. They're hoping to complete at the end of the month. I hope they're not offended that it's a 'student' cookbook, because I think it's really good - full of cheap and straightforward recipes. I'm hoping it'll be helpful because I don't think either of them excel at cooking (I'm not sure GF knows how to cook much at all - the stories about her mother's cooking are ). They're also getting our twice-sold-and-uncollected oven and no doubt lots of paint....
MS things:
* Survey voucher used to buy gift
* Ebay sale posted on Saturday
* Hoping a small FB sale will be collected tomorrow
* Various surveys done on Saturday
* Heating back to normal amounts now!Must turn boiler down....
* Meter readings done. Unfortunately we're now £17.99 in debit, but hopefully warmer weather is on the way!
Gratitudes:
* Lovely day yesterday with friends:beer:
* A wonderful DH who puts up with all my moods :T
* Warmer weather at last (thinking of you if it's not the case for you yet!)
* Looking forward to cuppa with brownie friend later - she's very much a good for the soul kind of person
