    Yep, take it easy, madvix - a virus can *easily* take a couple of months to heal, and do too much too soon, you can create serious problems for yourself where none existed before :(

    Keep on doing those gratitudes! You need some good stuff in there - the mfw stuff is a means to an end, not an end in itself, remember :)

    Thanks folks :) I am trying to take it easy... promise!

    We had a lovely weekend at the London to Brighton run - it was gorgeous weather, it was lovely to see our friends and we even managed to buy a round of drinks (it's impossible to pay for anything and they spend a fortune on us over the weekend)! Monday we came back slowly, but having had a big breakfast we resisted a milkshake (it's a Brighton tradition dating to our student days) and didn't eat until the evening (but we had budgeted for food out, so we did have an Indian).

    Food spends are still on course - we have a veg box arriving tomorrow, so £12.90 to add to total, bringing it to £15.44. Cancelled our milk on Monday, so have saved some money there - hope to do the same again this week as I'm eating porridge rather than cereal.

    In even better news, I have lots of work which should keep me busy for the rest of the week.

    Most importantly though, we OP'd £500 on Monday - from the money DH had earmarked for it. That leaves us with some money for carpet/plastering when we get around to it but also takes our balance down to £97,270! :j I need to update the MFW2017 thread I think!

    MS things:
    * MS have cancelled their Groove music service (as of end of year), so have refunded the points DH spent on the pass (even though it expires before then) - we've discovered we can use them for Starbucks, M&S, Debs, HoF or Pizza Express, so we're very happy about that - DH has enough for 2 £10 vouchers and I've got enough for 1. The points will continue, so they seem like a bit of a winner!
    * £4 Internet monitor reward has come through - will claim Am voucher
    * Discovered Brownies owed me £10 - claimed and paid in
    * VB poll and SBs collected

    Gratitudes:
    * Amazing weekend - I even got a brief ride on our friends' car :D
    * Am feeling better... slowly (managed to do almost everything at weekend)
    * Last year's new boiler - I feel much less guilty knowing I can put the heating on without it costing a fortune... Also, having a live balance means I can see how much we're spending.

    Thanks TH! Read an article on the BBC News website this morning about a woman who got a virus and then ended up with ME - can't take all your warnings not to do too much too seriously now!

    Just popping on to register £9.08 spend last night in Sainsbury's, but that should do us for a while.

    Have mastered using residual heat to cook my porridge - I bring it to the boil, turn the (electric) hob off and use the remaining heat to finish cooking it :D Simple things!

    That's the kind of thing we're saying, but maybe too coded. Glad you've picked up on it - it really can be that bad, I'm afraid :(

    I love that :rotfl: I confess, I usually just stick my porridge in the microwave for 6 mins. When I've tried to cook it in a pan, it took well over ten minutes :o my tastebuds must be very funny ...

    I’ve also been struggling with Illnes but no where near as bad as yours. Finding it frustrating as I want to feel on top of things again but just have to relax.

    Can’t wait to try the residual heat porridge thing! Thanks

    Have just posted on your thread saying much the same thing to you EG - hadn't received a notification that you'd posted here. I'm not sure that mine's worse, your back pain sounds unpleasant and back problems affect everything!

    KC - I've never got on with porridge in the microwave, it just goes everywhere for me!

    Had a good and fairly relaxing weekend. It was my Brownie quiz night on Saturday, organised by me so I expended a bit of energy then, but largely delegated to others. We raised £339 which was brilliant.

    MS things
    * Have cashed out on YG - £50 will be winging its way to me shortly :D
    * Lots of SBs earned
    * Comps caught up on over weekend
    * Spent £3.80 in Sains at weekend (mainly on a snack - a local event meant it took a hour to do a 15/20 min journey, meaning we were hungry when we got there and hunger is definitely a trigger for not feeling good for me at the moment; we knew we'd get caught up again on the way back). Total grocery spends so far £28.32 - really pleased with this :)
    * Cancelled 2 of 3 pints of milk normally delivered today as porridge means less milk is being drunk :) Another *ahem* nearly £2 saved (being plastic-free costs a lot sometimes!).
    * No veg box this week as we have plenty in
    * Sold an unwanted prize - ~£5 in

    Gratitudes:
    * A big one, this. This time last year a family friend was diagnosed with terminal cancer and told he had 4 months to live. Last week he saw the docs and he's been given the all-clear (chemo and operations to remove the cancer - and he didn't even have to have a colostomy). It just goes to show that doctors don't know everything! Obviously monitoring will continue, but what **fantastic** news! :D
    * Positive feedback from a Guiding friend who I thought might have been more negative about my involvement in hut matters - perhaps I've been unfair to her.
    * Fun night on Saturday, even if it was hard work.

    Well done! It takes ages, but its a really satisfying thing.

    * Lots of SBs earned
    I've just rejoined after years away - any tips? I currently have 108 points :rotfl:

    Thanks KC. Yes... I'm too lazy to wash up a big bowl and we only have a tiny dishwasher.... there, I have admitted it! :o Have posted on your thread re Swagbucks, but I'm sure I'm no expert!

    Am taking it very easy still.... docs are sending me for blood tests. Still hoping it's a virus and it's on its way out. Was very fed up yesterday - feeling a bit better today.

    MS things:
    * £2.06 claimed from TCB
    * £3 PC survey done
    * SBs slowly climbing - have a system for watching videos now
    * Reached payout on VB - to be paid next month :)
    * Lots of work and potential new customers too
    * :mad: Had to turn down some work from friend at events venue yesterday as I'm not well enough
    * Sorely tempted by takeaway for some reason, but standing firm - we have leftovers and leftover pud for dinner tonight.

    Gratitudes:
    * Evening class last night - I so nearly didn't go because I wasn't feeling great (but mostly in my head) - so glad I did, it cheered me up no end
    * DH bought me rolos :D
    * Nurse I saw really listened to my problems (even though I'd gone in for a medication review).

    Forgot to add a £5 spend on loo roll and bread the other day - total now £33.32 (but I've sent DH to the shops on his way home for milk, bread and grapes....)
