Hi madvix! Just catching up, and I can see your light on - what happened with the cooker?
You sound like you're doing amazingly well, and I hadn't thought of exercise classes on youtube - I have some on very old DVDs, copied from the tv, and even though the quality is atrocious, could be quite fun. Is it going well still?2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Hi KC, it's good to hear from you!
How are you doing? Better I hope - I'll pop over and 'see' when I've finished here.
Cooker not so good - people didn't turn up when they said they were going to and haven't responded since. I've opened an unpaid item case against them. Unfortunately the second chance offer to the next bidders was too late - they'd already won another one. And the rest of the bids were a lot lower. I'll relist it if the current winners don't respond (which I don't think they will).
I did some more exercise from youtube the day before yesterday but I now have nowhere to do it as the kitchen turned up yesterday (currently residing in our living room), the plasterer is here today (plastering kitchen ceiling and bedroom ceiling - sooner than expected!) and will be back on Thursday. There is no room for anything more in the house anywhere!! The cats and I are going stir crazy in the cramped living room (I have just had my lunch outside, which was nice). To top it all off, we discovered late last night (having spent the evening preparing for plasterers early arrival) that naughty kitty hasn't been weeing in the right place as we thought but has weed extensively on the new wood floor in the downstairs loo (it was collecting under the waterproof mat the litter tray was on). So every time he moves I'm worried he needs the loo and isn't going to use the litter tray.... great.
(Took him to the vets a couple of weeks ago and he basically said it was a behavioural problem, there's nothing wrong with him).
aaaand breathe...... think of the positives!
MS things:
* Have had some work so far this week... not loads, but enough.
* Used a Nectar Pizza Express voucher on Saturday for dinner (we went out for the day, only spends petrol, drinks and £6.55 on dinner - day out was much needed!)
* £2.80 cashback from £co claimed (will transfer to Electrics fund when it hits the account)
* £2.85 TCB claimed (ditto)
* Other cashback earned - takeaway, cat de-stressing items!
Gratitudes:
* Plasterer is here.... early.... and by far the best value for money in terms of tradesmen! (and I've known him since we were kids, so it's not stressful like having a stranger in the house)
* Lovely sunny day - the washing that has been hanging out for 5 days might actually dry now!
* It's short-term pain for long-term gain - new kitchen will be lovely
* Mum is coming up this way in a bit and will take me with her to order the lino for her kitchen - escape, bliss!
* Saw sister and niece yesterday
* Spent Sunday catching up with school friends and squeezing another baby (they're everywhere!)
(Loads to be grateful about actually - our day out on Saturday was full of gratitudes)
Sorry, but KC did ask!
Happy afternoon everyone!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Everything *except* the cooker sounds fantastic, actually
and even the moggie - with the disruption going on, out-of-place weeing is bound to take place sometimes, yuk! Keep at it (you, not the mog!).

Glad you saw the positives! The problem with the weeing is it basically hasn't stopped... I think we need to throw money at it and risk buying some new litter trays which he might not use.
But it's where to put them! (They have to be covered as he stands as he wees - boys! Aand, they're big cats, so large litter trays required)
You're right... there's more positives than negatives, I just need to focus on them. It's just been one of those days.Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Aww, you sound a bit frazzled with it all
sorry to hear that.
I remember a lot of weeing inside the house by next door's tom, when I had my two neutered female cats - i.e., much less of it than you're experiencing, and that was bad enough, so, thinking about it, I get where you're coming from - hope you can sort it soon.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Thanks
It's just the not knowing how to solve it that is really difficult! If only he could tell us why he was doing it.

My guess is the building works ... the wee is going onto the new floor, so it had already started when it started happening ... vets have some kind of trank for animals thats used around Bonfire Night, any use?2023: the year I get to buy a car0

The hall and loo works were looong ongoing ones - took over a year (had to take a ceiling down etc.), so there was no rapid change. I think stress is a factor and he's been on Zylkene which the vet recommended for stress (it ran out a few days ago, so possibility that latest wee is a result of this). I'll be keeping him on it for the foreseeable future (until all decorating is finished and hopefully not ruined by cat wee!) and I've ordered some more Feliway. I suspect though, that the trigger event was an ambush or similar by his brother - he will go in an open box but as soon as he can't see out of it, it's a no-go.
Thanks for thinking about it KCAll help appreciated!
