Fascinating about the app - there's so much that we can do, if we know. Thanks for the photo of the haul, that looks really good.
2023: the year I get to buy a car5 -
Morning all,
We had a viewing yesterday evening from an 'investment buyer' and one this morning from a normal couple. Nothing else booked at all now - looking forward to removing the washing bin from the bottom of my wardrobe where it really doesn't fit (it's the small things!).
Dinner last night needed to be easy as we couldn't cook until after the 7pm viewing, so I grabbed a pizza from the local shop and we had that with corn on the cob and the TGTG potato salad. Mum's coming later for dinner and if she comes early enough, I'm thinking we'll go blackberrying too - have really enjoyed having some stewed apple and blackberry on my porridge in the mornings, so hoping to continue! (Normally it's just sultanas.) In the meantime, I need to make some naans for dinner!
MS things:
* Ongoing PA survey
* Free blackberries
* No food waste!
* RM survey prep/finished CD special survey
* 2 YG surveys
* NV survey
Gratitudes:
* No more viewings this weekend
* A clean and tidy house
* Blackberries

Ooh, blackberries! I'm going to go and check on ours this afternoon
Good you've had another couple of viewings, you certainly seem to be getting plenty of people through the door which is great! Fingers crossed for a buyer soon...5 -
Afternoon all,
Thanks Cheery, you've inspired me to get my act together and actually get out for a blackberry or two.... In the end, Mum was very much later leaving than planned, and then DH had an incident in which the sanding bits flew off the angle grinder, catching him in the face... so never made it out yesterday. DH is fine, amazingly, and for which we are very grateful. His nose is a bit bruised and has some cuts/scratches on the bottom of it and his hand is a bit cut and bruised, but it could have been so much worse (he was, of course, wearing goggles). We did at least manage to have a nice evening with Mum once she arrived.
This morning I've pulled out the runner beans as they were over, pruned the red currant and picked another handful of chillies for drying. DH doesn't want to come for a walk as his hip is hurting (walking disaster zone at the moment!), so I was undecided about a walk, but I *do* want blackberries, so I'll head out shortly.
MS things:
* Garden bits
* PA ongoing survey
* Going to actually make that wine I bought the yeast for later today!
Gratitudes:
* It's mainly DH's pride that is hurt - his main concern is the first in-person work meeting on Thursday in months and months and he's got a bloody nose!
* Nice evening with mum once the drama was over
* A quiet potter-y day doing homesteady things and the Spa GP later
Hope you're all having restful and enjoyable Sunday!

Goodness me, sounds like a nasty incident with the angle grinder!!
Reading this has reminded me that I haven't been out for blackberries yet either ... oh dear! Going now, honestly!6 -
Glad to hear DH is ok, vix!Mortgage Balance as of July 2025 £14,900.

Thanks Ladies
I managed to pick 500g (ish) of blackberries, which is excellent going for me - usually I think 'must pick blackberries this year' and always leave it too late, so this is a huge amount! Have soaked them in some slightly vinegary water (as per RT's instructions) and am now open freezing them until I have some apples to stew them with. While the grand prix was on I finished knitting a dishcloth (an improvement in productivity over the usual nap!).
Wine making won't be happening today - last time I needed yeast, this time it's sugar! Sugar has been ordered on supermarket delivery but won't arrive until Thursday. I could go and buy some, but I'd rather wait.
Have just used my 'Norfolk passport' discount to order a 'cake card' for my Great Aunt's birthday - it's literally a card and a slice of cake through the post. I wanted to send her something cake-based throughout lockdown, but the only things I could find at the time were too big - 6 cupcakes etc. She's tiny and has a relatively small appetite, so I didn't want her worrying about the cakes going to waste, so I didn't get her anything. It's her birthday tomorrow and this, hopefully, will be perfect. It's not actually arriving until Thursday now, as being the bank holiday, I didn't think she'd want 4 day-old cake turning up on Tuesday (and thought she might not realise that it needed to be opened if I'd sent it for Friday last week). I wouldn't normally get her more than a card, but, you know, pandemic!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

That sounds like a lovely thoughtful gift! Excellent choice!
Well done on the blackberries too. I confess my plan was somewhat foiled - I have to walk through ONE of our fields to get to the blackberries, and the whole herd of cows, including the calf born yesterday, were blocking my path. Well, there are only about 8 of thembut I prefer to leave them alone, especially when there's a really young one, so I thought I'd go later, and then I, er, forgot... Goodness me. Tomorrow, definitely - and do feel free to prod me if you see me in here!

I haven't picked blackberries yet either
in fact, I haven't even picked the ripe ones that are on the brambles I've been chopping down in my own garden, it interrupts the rhythm too much. Argh.

Morning all,
I've just been doing a few bits of work (no holiday in the US). Normally a little bit on a BH doesn't bother me - I know what's likely to come in and only takes a few mins. Of course, today two projects that were both tricky/had issues arrived. What joy! Sorted now though.
Have also done my PA survey for the day. Further plans include a walk (if DH's hip is up to it), some card making (new home for Sis and birthday for a friend) and some evening class stuff as I've totally neglected it and we'll be restarting lessons again soon. Dinner will be roasted (hg) patty pan squash and (bought) spinach risotto. Sis has brought me a German sourdough cake starter round - I think it needs feeding today too (which needs sugar, so maybe I'll be making the wine after all!). As it's sunny at the moment though, I'm going to find something to do outside!
MS things:
* HG food
* PA survey
* HM cards
* Work
Gratitudes:
* The sourdough cake starter?? I'm still a bit bamboozled by this as it's not what I'd consider a proper sourdough starter... But definitely appreciate the brief visit from Sis and Niece
* Sunshine!
* The ease with which onions and apples are delivered by the milkman - and organic and plastic-free
