I would not be going back while any safety measures need to be in place since in my view, they cannot be trusted to take steps to keep me safe. Even if it is a social enterprise. Feel free to add the view of a friend you discussed it with when you write. It kind of feels as though they are violating your trust and they need to seriously look at themselves.Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)

Thanks SL, that's my feeling too, that we won't be going back for the time being.

Aw, I'm so sorry about your holiday 😥😥 How very disappointing. Hope things sort themselves out & you get to go eventually x5

Morning all,
Thanks Cheery. It is what it is.... but nervously watching and waiting to see if Virgin goes into administration - it's imminent if they don't get government help.
I had a really excellent response from the pub. The lady I emailed must be the manager (I used the email address I'd ordered from) - she wasn't there on Saturday night and she was very disappointed to hear what was going on. She explained that there had been a delay on food, leading to various groups hanging around including staff. She then outlined a whole range of actions that they would be implementing to stop this happening in the future. I was very impressed and am reassured that the situation won't occur again. I'm glad I wrote too - because it clearly was taken in the right way and has made a positive change.
I've had a reasonable amount of work to get through this morning. All done now though. Have cashed out £20 on PA.
MS things:
* YG surveys
* Clicks
* Wraps made for lunch
Gratitudes:
* Good response from pub
* Didn't get too wet on my walk yesterday
* The last of the tart tatin

That is great news on the response from the pub. It is always so gratifying when people respond in a positive way to feedback. I was always taught that feedback is a gift6

Agreed, Busy Mee - glad they took it on board!Not much else to report here... NSD? Unless adding to my supermarket delivery counts as spending?? DH has gone for a walk and I’m just chilling with the cats.I am trying to make some effort with my business in terms of networking and trying to pick up a couple of (good quality) new clients - I’ve logged in to LinkedIn and even been in touch with a couple of existing/past clients just to ‘touch base’. I need to keep it up - I’ve been a bit complacent in recent years as I have enough money coming in to keep things ticking over, but no more! I’ll never get to FIRE if I don’t put the effort in!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Morning all,
Busy day today. Not with work - which took about 20 seconds- but various other jobs, including a trip to Costco (not been since lockdown started, but really fed up with the price of supermarket chicken for the cats and need a couple of other bits too), some sewing and some gardening, as well as a trip to the PO. I feel I've saved up a load of jobs to feel like I'll have had a vaguely productive and normal day.
MS things:
* Clicks done
* Venturing to Costco is a money-saving exercise
* Going to plant some (ancient) cornflower seeds for some cheap colour in front garden
* Sewing involves two repairs and a mask or two (really don't want to, hate the thought of wearing one, but it seems we don't have much choice)
* Washing on overnight (somewhat offset by the fact I'm having to charge the car now)
Gratitudes:
* The hessian I'm using to protect my tender plants seems to be working - no frost damage (but then, maybe, no frost either!)
* Sunshine
* A trip out
* A chance to see my mum later in the week!

Excellent that they took your feedback on board! As it should be really - if it were my business I'd be mortified, as would many of us.
Good effort there with your business Vix. FIRE is definitely worth aiming for! I have just this minute been trying to investigate how much I'd lose if I dropped a day at workAlso not going to get me to FIRE but I do enjoy a long weekend

We must have cross-posted there Cheery!
Well FIRE comes in many shapes and forms - and if that's only working 4 days per week so you can spend more time with Mr Cheery, then that's definitely worth doing! I'm too lazy for proper FIRE I think - but money = freedom and choice, so that's the key thing.
DH sold some shares yesterday with the aim of buying them back when they fall (they're company shares and the share price is insane at the moment). If they don't though, we'll just pay it off the mortgage - which will wipe out the OP allowance for the year.... sometimes all the piddly little things I do just don't seem worth it when he can come along and do that, but I know they do make a difference overall.Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

It's you constantly beavering away on the piddly things that means he CAN do things like that Vix. Don't underestimate your contribution!
I like the idea of FIRE, but find the numbers terrifying. Also (if I've understood it correctly) you never get to the end of the money, so it's all still there when you shuffle off? With no kids to leave anything to, I'm b*ggered if I'm leaving all the fruits of my hard work behind, so intend on much more modest savings and spending the lot! Some form of equity release may also be researched too - need to build it up first though 😂!Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)
