Afternoon all,
Had a terrible night's sleep again last night, so really struggling today. Going out for dinner tonight with my Guiding friend - we're heading to the Korean restaurant DH and I discovered, which I've been looking forward to for ages. DH is going out for dinner and drinks with some work friends - I'm going to pick him up and have a drink after dinner (if I'm not asleep by then).
So definitely not a NSD! However, have used some of the hm yoghurt to make naans this morning. Will freeze them and hopefully will still be some left for Easter Saturday when we're having friends round for curry. Still lots of work ongoing, although one client has been asking questions this morning and I just wanted him to leave me in peace!
MS things:
* YG survey
* PA survey
* Clicks etc.
* Rounded up 3p interest that had been paid to a dormant savings a/c
* Picked up 3p on the pavement last night!
Gratitudes:
* My cats - however much they drive me up the wall sometimes, I love them! (Had very sad new on IG this morning that one of the cats I follow had died unexpectedly in his sleep - he'd only just got to his forever home) My cats are getting lots of cuddles this morning.
* Iceland frozen, plastic-free, palm-oil free apple pieI love having a ready-made pud in the freezer, but with the rhubarb-triffid coming into season, I need all the space in the freezer I can get and will have dessert ingredients permanently on hand.
* MSE Flylady - I'd slipped the past couple of weeks, but now back on it and the house is looking better for it.

Progress not Perfection0 -
Afternoon all,
Earthie - I have always been really hopeless at housework (cooking/baking yes, great, but cleaning... the bathroom??? Terrible, DH used to do it!). Now I've found Flylady and really got into it the house is so much nicer and I don't panic when someone calls in - I know it's okay. It makes such a difference to how I feel, especially being here most of the time.
Popped out today and exchanged 5 empty pots for a free Lush face mask (worth £8.50 - a great incentive to recycle)It's bright blue, so I'll look like a Smurf! It's taken me, literally, years to collect these, so I'm not sure when I'll get the next one!
Called into Hotel Choc to see if there were any freebies going, but sadly not. Was pleased to see that some of their products are being packaged in more environmentally friendly packaging.... although at those prices I still can't see me buying it!
The pub/hotel co. *finally* got back to me after I went back to their head office. They're giving me a refund of £65, which isn't quite the cost of one night's stay, but it'll do. I felt the response was a bit snippy and I'm not impressed at all still. But £65 should be winging its way to my account. :j
MS things:
* Had a blitz of comps yesterday
* PA surveys and YG survey done
* Clicks etc.
* Brownie cheque paid in
* Found a new baby gift in the sale, so £5 spent, but ~£7 saved on what I was looking at
* Bowl of tomatoes for £1 from the market and plastic free too
Gratitudes:
* Mum bought me a delicious apple strudel for 'lunch' from the market
* Gorgeously sunny day here today (oops, never did get washing on)
* Stodgy but yummy dinner of mac n cheese (JO's recipe) followed by leftover apple pie and custard

Yesterday's food sounds gorgeous
and yes, £65 is enough to draw a line underneath, but I can tell you'll never use them again. Good for you for persevering.
Flylady. Oh good grief. When the kitchen's in, I'm going to have to set something up - not as much as she does, but I'm going to have to do more, for my house to feel welcoming to *me*, let alone everyone else. Argh!
Anyway, hope today goes well too.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Hey Karma (and all!),
I mean MSE Flylady, not the US version. They're pretty chilled about it - it's all about doing what you can and not worrying too much as it'll come around next week. It seems to work for me and has given me the structure I need. It's on the OS forums (I can't say come and join us as I'm a complete lurker!). I do feel the house is a nicer place to be now.
You're completely right about that particular hotel - I definitely wouldn't go back (I didn't even mention the deficiencies in the restaurant - it just didn't seem worth it!). It's part of a large chain so I'm sure I'll be frequenting their pubs again, but I will think twice about booking a room.
Work has been a bit quieter this morning - I still have some to do, but I've put hot x buns 'on' to prove and done a couple of surveys as well. Still reading the live on £4000 thread from 2008 and they're inspiring me to up the other bits of income too, which is more feasible now work is a bit quieter - work would be better though!). Intend to plant some basil seeds this afternoon too.
Need an 18th card for my cousin - anyone know of any offers on new sign ups/online card places? CF didn't have anything suitable and trying to avoid plastic (and get it for good value) limits my options rather!
MS things:
* Clicks etc.
* PA survey
* Couple of presents ordered using bb switch Am voucher (and some Gfk TV survey voucher wins - £2!)
* £7 cashback tracked on Ancestry subscription - 6 months, using birthday money. I just have to get my money's worth!
Gratitudes:
* Sunshine again here today - which wasn't in the forecast
* A lap cat (although I need to go knead the dough!)
* A rewritten version on the hot x bun recipe - I think I'll be less put off and make them more often now!

I dip in and out of Flylady - most definition out at the minute, and this place is a tip:rotfl: :rotfl: Never really sunk in that there was a flylady thread - must investigate, thank you :j

Hey Cheery, I have to say, I've never actually investigated the real Flylady! :rotfl: If it's not on MSE.... (I even found myself looking for an MSE family history thread yesterday - I couldn't work out which board it might be on though!)Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days

Of course! I went to the real Flylady for a little while, and I definitely remember the whiff of a "surrendered wife"
. An mse version would be much better!
Can the lap cat knead the dough for you? Knowing what they do to humans2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
I can't keep up with flylady so just did my own version! 20 mins a day of cleaning but what I really need to do is the same again of decluttering, so I've started that. I can't do a whole day decluttering as I'm always busy/out/working/childcare, so a little bit every day will help.15/5/12 Paid off Mortgage 1 (£220k) Bought Dream House:www: Dec 13 - Mortage 2 -£116,508. 15/7/18 Mortgage Free Again :j

:rotfl::rotfl: Erm... not if I want it relatively fur free!!
Earthie - I definitely don't stick to it rigidly, but it gives me a basis and has made me consider jobs that should be done that I definitely wouldn't have though of!Mortgage free 16/06/2023! £132,500 cleared in 11 years, 3 months and 7 days
