La Redoute Total Cover

I contacted La Redoute about the total cover that I have been paying on my account with them the account was opened in October 2001, I have no recollection of asking for this cover and it would have not been of any use to me as I was not working when the account was opened and have not worked since as I am now a carer to my dad who had a severe stroke in 2004.
They have wrote back to me stating that as the policy was sold before January 2005 they are not upholding my complaint but as a gesture of goodwill will refund the last 3 total cover charges. Is it advisable for me to write to them again explaining that I did not receive a copy of their terms and conditions at the time or I would not have taken the policy out in the first place or to refer the matter to the FOS help needed please.

They have offered you a goodwill gesture, so write back and ask that they review this offer, they may increase it.

As this was 2001 they are correct in that they cannot do mis sell due to the age.

I would question why they offer a gesture when they could easily reject on the grounds of the date?.
