I think this post is totally insensitive. Many people on here suffer acute anxiety, sleeplessness, stress related illness and relationship difficullties because of debt. It is ok to post on this board if you are not a dfw. I do from time to time and am made welcome by the regulars. But you should be here to support them.

If you want to live well - live mse. I have a very good lifestyle as a single parent and spend an average of just £850 per month on everything. I can live this well because of the tips and support unselfishly given on these boards.
  • I agree, the fact is that credit costs & it costs a lot. To really live like a king, live free of debt (wish I had realised that years ago)
Proud to be dealing with my debts :j

Good to see that we're all still full of our own self importance and living in our little bubbles.

    Just checking, cheers.

I don't see anyone full of their own self importance I see reasonable people trying to solve their problems and help each other! Perhaps if you were to pop out of your "bubble" of cynicism you may experience this better side of human kind. :p

If you mean that people are working v hard to get out of a financial difficulty, by paying their debts off with their hard earned money, and supporting and helping each other along the way, then yes, our self importance and little bubble if you wish to call it that is great!!.Thanks.
  • Yes the post is insensitive but there are people who repeatedly run up credit then don't pay it. This is very upsetting for the people who slog their guts out to get out of debt. I've seen it in DH family and it makes me:mad:

Once you've been bankrupt getting credit isn't very easy, so I'm not sure that what you're proposing is possible. I'm sure there must be easier ways of obtaining money by fraudulent means if you have no morals, and don't mind what is little more than stealing. Perhaps try benefit fraud, tax evasion etc; you could wind up in prison of course...
  • Hello everybody,

Sorry to hear about all your problems i am myself into debts and somehow agree with the renegade the society are made spend junkies with the pressure of buy buy buy greed and unesscary materials that society push to buy i think what martin lewis does is very good and i dont blame anybody because they are in debts what i condamne it is the banks and this extra liberalism of access on money the renegade suggested to somehow use the system and to take the banks in theirs own game because it is happening now so many people are insolvent and cannot repay it is like going for rehab and be surrounded by drugs it is hypocrisie dont feel sorry for yourselves we all are responsible adult and should stop this manic capitalism.
  • I totally Disagree with the OP,

I am now 1 year into my Trust Deed and IF I had found this site before I had signed it I definately would have tried to have gone with a DMP. I racked up the debt so I should really be paying it off. At the time however it was the only way I could see out of my situation (I went through a TV advertised company  ) I didn't have a clue that I could have gotten free help through CCCS or CAB.

It is anything but an easy way out and for me personally I have learnt my lesson all be it the hard way and I will never be getting myself into the same situation again.
