Dad Can't Fly Mum Hates Boats

Hi does anyone have any ideas where a good warm place my mum and dad could buy a static home in the UK. Thething is my dad can't fly abroad hates planes and my mum hates the water no boats. They were thinking euro star train a place in France because it's warmer for holiday trips through the year but would consider somewhere else in UK we're from Scotland, but heard that Devon was meant to be nice and weather there good in season, any other ideas anyone?:money:

Well, I can't advise on Devon as I have only been there once years ago but with France, I'd say you're looking at the Southern half so if they can't/won't fly it's either going to be a long train ride even on the fast trains in France or a very long drive.

    Lot of rain tho...
  • There are courses they could take to help combat their fears, i know Virgin do a fear of flying course in London, not sure about the boats though.

The train to France does not take that long. Leaving Waterloo at 8am ish will get you to the Dordogne around 6pm ish, and you get to see the French countryside. See http://www.seat61.com/France.htm
