Soon as your spanking new car front tyres leave the forecourt it's already depreciated in price by a few thousands . Sounds mad doesn't it that's the reality .

It's the reality for some cars.

If you read my post above you'll see it's not always the case.

In this case there is a very generous dealer discounts on new cars (nearly 22%). So nearly new don't seem to be such good value

    XC90 new retail price - 40,530
    XC90 Drive the deal - 33,762
    2010 (Parker valns, 1 years old) - 31,645 (6.3% off)
    2010 (Parker valns, 2 years old) - 28,000 (17% off)

It's still a lot of money though isn't it. You get an awful lot of used car for £10k, why pay £30k for one?

It's all very well saying £33,762 vs. year-old for £31,645, but there's no shortage of XC90s selling for half of that, yes they are older, but it makes sense....

This might be a bit poverty spec http://www.cargiant.co.uk/Volvo/XC90/details-535760-Volvo-XC90.asp?viewtype=0

    but it's a big saving.

I was looking to buy about a year old Volvo XC90. How much do you expect a new car to depreciate in year one?

It has taken about 4,500,000,000 (4.5 billion) years for the Earth to form as it is now .........
and it'll only take about another 100 years for mankind to really **** it up!!!!
