New house - electricity controls help?
Hi, just signed papers for new house today and been round to do inventory and get meter readings. Looked at the electric cupboard and no idea what to do with most of it.
The building has storage heaters, so an E7 meter - and a digital one at that.
The meter looks like this:

And I think I've worked most of it out.
It displays R1/R2 for day/night tariff; I assume R2 is day as that one was flashing when I saw it, R1 was solid on.
How do I know what time my price changes? Does it vary by supplier, and how does the meter know when to switch if I change supplier?
To the left I have this:

Which appears to be a set of actual fuses; something I have never had to deal with, always having had breakers in the past. Are these likely to be for the storage heaters? The far left has one missing, any ideas how I find out what that would be for?
And up to I have this:

From the labels I'm guessing these are kitchen related, are they breakers/fuses/what?
And underneath is a mechanical timer for the immersion heater (I forgot to photograph it) which I'm not really sure how to use.
Looks exactly like this:

Not really sure how I go about ensuring this turns on/off at the right times or controlling how much water it heats overnight?
Can anyone help me out getting this set up etc?

Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience.

Hi, that meter displays the rate in progress at the time you looked at it, it is usually set at at rate 1 to equal day but this can vary,The time on the meter is on the meter if you scroll through pressing the blue button. the night rate comes on in my area (S. yorks) at 12.30 am until 7.30 am.in british summer time that will mean the cheap night rate changes an hour on to 1.30am to 8.30 am. the rate which is flashing is the rate which is in operation when you see it. the meter will remain the same if you switch supplier.Have a look at the meter around the 7.30 time you may see the read displayed move from night to day. the meter itself also looks like an EDF 20-20 meter but I cant see the numbers 20-20 on the meter, which is a special meter used by EDF which gives 12 hours day and 12 hours night0

Meter settings are based on the old geographical regions, however in each region there are multiple e7 settings which can have different times.
If you have a teleswitch meter, it can be very hard go find out but I wont go into that unless you know you have one. That looks like a time switch meter in which case the meter settings are held in industry market domain data and whilst there may be more than 1 e7 type of setting, its easy to find out from your suppliers point of view and it cannot be changed.
Suggest contacting them. From a piece f data they will have been sent when the metet was installed or you switched go thm, they can trace your settings and tell you the times.:rotfl: It's better to live 1 year as a tiger than a lifetime as a worm...but then, whoever heard of a wormskin rug!!!:rotfl:0
